"May you live in interesting times"

Mark Gordon - Breakaway Research 18 Oct 2015

Although called the "Chinese curse", no definite Chinese source has been found for this apocryphal saying; however we are indeed living in interesting times. This has been demonstrated by continuing falls in metals prices and indices over the last quarter, with the following article by Mark Gordon summarises these changes.

Resources & Commodities - Is it now time to re-think!

18 Oct 2015

2014 and 2015 to the end of September has been plagued by weak commodity demand on the back of softening world growth, particularly in China, and a lack of meaningful production cuts which has led to building inventories.

Breakaway Research: Southern Gold Ltd

Breakaway Research 18 Oct 2015

Southern Gold Limited was listed on the ASX in April 2005. The initial focus was on gold exploration around the Challenger Mine in South Australia, nickel at Bulong South, uranium/base metals in the Gawler Craton and gold and gold/copper in the Lachlan Fold Belt. The Company later added exploration tenements in Cambodia to its asset base. The bulk of these assets have now been disposed of, allowing the Company to concentrate on the Bulong gold assets.

Keith Goode: Gold Road Resources is Exploring and Developing Gold Region's in Western Australia

Keith Goode - Eagle Research Advisory 18 Oct 2015

The first Gold Camp Target was the South Dorothy Hills Trend which yielded the recent Gruyere and YAM14 gold discoveries. The discoveries, approximately nine kilometres apart and on the same structural trend, approximately 25 kilometres north-east of Central Bore, exhibit two different mineralisation styles not seen before in the Yamarna Belt, and confirms the potential for the Dorothy Hills Trend to host further significant gold deposits.

Gavin Wendt: Ten Key Points to Bear in Mind Based on Current Resource Volatility.

Gavin Wendt - Minelife 18 Oct 2015

Double-digit Chinese growth couldn't continue - indeed it wasn't necessary or desirable for the Chinese economy to sustain the record levels of growth that we've witnessed for the past two decades. Markets knew that an economic slow-down was inevitable (indeed healthy), as was a restructuring of China's economy away from an infrastructure and export focus, towards a more consumer and service-oriented economy. As is often the case however, markets tend to overreact.

Breakaway Research: Transerv Energy

Breakaway Research 24 Sep 2015

Transerv, which has been involved in the Warro Gas Field since the mid-2000ís, is spudding the first of two appraisal wells in the current programme on this very exciting undeveloped field with partner Alcoa, who are earning 65% through the expenditure of $100 million. The wells are designed to test flows and potential commercially of the target Yarragadee Formation, a tight sand formation that will require fracture stimulation. These holes follow up from the two previous stimulated appraisal wells which flowed appreciable gas.

Breakaway Research: TNG Limited (2)

Breakaway Research 24 Sep 2015

TNG has now met key milestones on the commercialisation of its Mount Peake V-Ti-Fe Project in the Northern Territory of Australia. These include the completion of the Definitive Feasibility Study, which has incorporated results from the successful TIVAN pilot scale testwork. The testwork has returned very positive results, including enhanced product quality. This includes the potential to produce a TiO2 concentrate suitable for upgrading on site to a higher value pigment grade product, significantly enhancing project economics.

Breakaway Research: Phoenix Copper

Breakaway Research 24 Sep 2015

In Hayes Creek, Phoenix has a potentially very robust short term development opportunity in a proven mining district well served by infrastructure. Mineralisation at the known Iron Blow and Mt Bonnie VMS deposits is high grade - amongst the highest of any ASX-listed companies with poly-metallic projects, and preliminary metallurgical work on these commonly problematic styles of mineralisation has returned positive results.

Breakaway Research: Orinoco Gold Limited

Breakaway Research 24 Sep 2015

Development of Orinoco's 70% held Cascavel Gold Project in Brazil is now well advanced, with activities running on schedule for plant commissioning in January 2016. The modular plant is being constructed by the Australian based Gekko Systems. Metallurgical testwork by Gekko has returned excellent results, indicating ~90% recoveries to a high grade concentrate through a simple gravity circuit and a coarse 600µm grind. Recent months have seen key developments, including siting the processing plant at Cascavel rather than Sertao as initially planned, a moved that has significant logistical and financial benefits.

Keith Goode's: ERA's Post Diggers Visit Report To Phoenix Gold And Why Our Recommendation Is A SPEC BUY At 12c With A Target Of >15c

Keith Goode - ERA 24 Sep 2015

This report started as a post-Diggers 2015 Site Visit report, but we/ERA were also intrigued, having followed and written research a number of times on Phoenix, what had happened, as in : Why did the grade from Kintore fall by 0.7g/t from 1.9g/t at the mine to 1.2g/t at the mill? Why had Castle Hill not started mining yet - as in what was wrong with it ?, and What had happened to all that potential exploration upside?

Breakaway Research: Kin Mining NL

Breakaway Research 24 Sep 2015
